It was all hands on deck last Friday for the first of the KC’s Lenten fish fries. The line of cars for the drive through service was at one point stalled on US 79 so there were people directing traffic in the parking lot to keep everyone safe.
Patsy Zapata and Pat Watson took orders in the parking lot while the “KC Wives,” as they called themselves, made plates in assembly line fashion which were then run out to the cars.
According to Grand Knight Kenny Svrcek, the money raised will help to pay the KC Hall’s electric bills as well as provide a scholarship.
Plates are $12 this year and include fried fish, French fries, hush puppies, the famous KC coleslaw, pinto beans and all the trimmings.
Plates will be available every Friday from 5 to 7:30 p.m. until April 14.
