QUICK LOOK
The first of two Noon Lions Club’s soup suppers is set for 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the junior-high commons.
Those suppers, an annual January event, have changed considerably for 2020, compared to past years.
Allen Sanders, club president, said, instead of holding the tasty events every Thursday during the month, they will be scheduled only twice, this Thursday and again Thursday, Jan. 23.
Also, the Junior-High Commons is a new location. Previous soup suppers were held in the New Salem Clubhouse in Fair Park.
Hours are 5 to 7 p.m. both Thursdays.
Cost is $8 per person and includes soup, roll or cornbread, tea/water and dessert.
Sanders said there will be three choices each of the two nights.
Chefs will prepare three soups from the following list:
Chuck wagon stew, chicken and dumplings, potato soup, tomato soup, taco soup and broccoli and cheese soup.
Funds raised will go toward Lions projects to benefit the community.
