POLICE REPORT
Rockdale Police made five felony arrests during the past week, including a choking incident and an indecency with a child case.
CHOKING—Lt. Stephen Goodrich said Laurence Scott Gonzales, 36, of Rockdale, was charged with assault of family/household member-impeding breath/circulation on Thursday.
Goodrich said the victim was also beaten but declined transportation to a medical facility.
“After a quantity of methamphetamine was found, an additional charge of possession of a controlled substance in a drug-free zone was filed,” he said.
Gonzales remained in custody at presstime in lieu of $40,000 bond.
INDECENCY—An investigation into an incident involving a 14-year-old female drew two charges Friday, according to police.
John Aldama, 47, of Rock-dale was charged with indecency with a child. He was released on $30,000 bond.
Erica Marie Aldama, 28, of Rockdale was charged with tampering with a witness connected with the case, Goodrich said. She was released after posting $20,000 bond.
ARRESTS—Goodrich said Kevin Leo Rubio, 31, of Rockdale was arrested on a warrant for burglary of a habitation and bond surrender on a previous conviction Saturday. He remained in custody Tuesday on $24,000 bond
Goodrich said Odell Barnes, 23, was arrested Thursday for failure to register as a sex offender. Barnes remained in custody on $6,000 bond.
ACCIDENTS—Police responded to a pair of accidents during the week.
A one-vehicle accident was reported at the Cameron-Wilcox intersection at 5:22 p.m. Jan. 9.
Driver was listed as Caroline Galen of Thorndale.
Police were called to Julio’s Mexican Restaurant, 1533 West Cameron (US 79) at 10:16 p.m. Jan. 9.
Driver was listed as Robert Springer of Rockdale.
CITATIONS—Police issued 35 citations during the week, 22 of them for speeding.
SERVICE CALLS—Offi - cer responded to 143 calls for service during the seven-day reporting period.
There were 66 calls received through the 911 emergency reporting system at the police department.
