The Central Texas Mobile Food Pantry will return to the KC Hall parking lot at 9 a.m. Thursday for its second “drive-through” free food distribution.
Pam Warren, chair of Rockdale Christian Services, said the first one April 2 distributed food to 351 households with 881 individuals.
Like the previous distribution, those picking up food from the pantry Thursday will be required to stay inside their vehicles.
Here’s how it works:
• Orders of distribution will be determined on where you are parked.
• For the line, vehicles must drive around the back of the building, beginning at the hall’s southeastern corner, the one nearest the church (opposite the truck).
• Drive completely around the building, emerging, facing south, near the truck.
• Volunteers will then come to your vehicle— maintaining a safe distance—to gather your information.
• At the distribution point, volunteers will place a box of food in your trunk or truck bed. Everyone will stay in their vehicles.
“For this to work, please have your trunk cleared out enough for a large box of food to fit,” Warren said.
