Forensic results are back after a skull was found in an abandoned home near Cameron.

Milam County Sheriff Mike Clore said the Forensic Anthropology Center at Texas State completed their analyses of the skull and found it consistent with being from an adult Asian male.

Officials also believe the skull could possibly be an anatomical specimen. That is possible because China was the only country in the world that allowed for the legal export of human remains for anatomical reference between 1985 and 2008. Even so, the technicians said they did not have enough direct evidence just by looking at the skull to definitively conclude that.

The forensic team suggested a bone and tooth chemistry could help narrow down where the skull came from. Further bone and tooth chemistry labs or DNA testing could reveal if the skull is medically or forensically significant. Sheriff Clore said his office will go forward with the bone and tooth chemistry lab work.
