A Milam County resident who once competed on the reality show, “American Idol,” was arrested last week in Rockdale on a charge of burglary of a habitation. Cecil Ray Baker, 20, of Rockdale was arrested at 8:08 a.m. on Friday.
He was booked into Milam County Jail on Saturday at 3:27 p.m. Baker’s bond was set at $15,000 and he was released from custody Saturday at 4:14 p.m.
Police worked a minor wreck with no injuries reported in the parking lot of One Stop on Main Street around 10:30 a.m. on Friday.
Police also issued five speeding tickets in the past week.

FIRE CALLS— Wednesday, 10:56 a.m., Milano Volunteer Fire Department along with AMR and the Milam County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two vehicle accident on CR 342.
• Thursday, 3:23 p.m., Thorndale Volunteer Fire Department along with Milam County Sheriff’s Office responded to a transformer fire at St. Paul’s Church.
• Sunday, 10:33 a.m., Thorndale Volunteer Fire Department along with the Rockdale VFD responded to a fire at the Old Downtown Cafe for a structure fire.
