Rockdale Police said a former employee of Tractor Supply, wanted since April for “skimming” receipts from the business, was arrested Thursday.

Lt. Stephen Goodrich said Janice Lynn Baker, 32, of Rockdale, was charged with theft ($100 to $750) and possession of a controlled substance.

She was released after posting $4,500 bond.

STOLEN CAR—Police said they believe someone found a set of keys lost by a Rockdale man, leading to an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle incident during the week.

“We have received word from Florida authorities that the vehicle was at a toll stop in that state at one point,” Goodrich said.

ACCIDENTS—No injuries were reported in two traffic accidents investigated by police during the past seven days.

Police said power lines, and a utility pole were knocked down when an SUV collided with a pole in the 400 block of West Bell at 6:27 a.m. May 26.

The driver, according to police, was a 14-year-old male juvenile, who was released to the custody of his grandmother, who was the vehicle owner.

Damages were termed “major.”

Police said minor damages were reported in a two-vehicle collision at 4:31 p.m. Sunday on West Cameron Ave. in front of Miller-Starnes Chevrolet-Buick.

Drivers were listed as Destiny Harris of Rockdale and Julie Bera of Austin.

OFFENSES—Offenses reported to police during the week included criminal trespass, public intoxication, failure to ID fugitive from justice/giving false information, theft and theft of service.

CITATIONS—Police issued 17 citations during the past seven days, including four each for no driver’s license and driving while license invalid, two each for expired driver’s license-second offense and public intoxication and one each for juvenile driving without a license, expired registration, failure to maintain financial responsibility, speeding and possession of drug paraphernalia.

SERVICE CALLS—Officers made 168 calls during the week and there were 97 calls received through the 911 emergency system at the Rockdale Police Station.
