Mark Brady, former Rock-dale High School teacher, certainly “made the grade” Saturday night.
Brady won the $11,000 gift card first prize in the Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department’s annual fund-raiser, held in the KC Hall.
The progressive ticket-drawing evening, complete with a dinner and dance, always generates excitement as the evening builds toward a climax.
Brady also won one of the $100 gift cards awarded during the evening.
There were 32 of those.
Second prize, a $2,500 gift card went to the Rock-dale VFD.
There was one other award. Holder of the first ticket drawn during the evening gets their $125 ticket price returned.
That went to Joe Wayne Cleveland.
“We appreciate everyone who supported us,” RVFD volunteer Mike Korenek said. “We are already starting to plan the 2019 event.
