The Rockdale ISD Education Foundation raised nearly $25,000 and passed it out to teachers on Thursday as 11 of the 22 grant applications they received were funded at all grade levels.
Foundation members, along with the RHS drumline, senior cheerleaders and Golden Girls, loaded up a bus and went to each campus to award the prizes.
Junior High Winners: “Tiger Launch: Igniting Success for the Class of 2032,” $2,000. “Positive Vibes, Tiger Pride: RJH Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports Incentive Program (PBIS),” $3,000. Teacher Ford Moore’s project “Encouraging Minds in Math: Enhancing Learning with the Who’s First? Wireless Game Buzzer System,” $450. Teacher Kaitlin Brinkley’s project “Keys to Success—An Innovative Typing Tutor,” $510.
High School Winners: “Tiger Camp: Earn Your Stripes—Class of 2029 Freshman Experience,” $2,000. Teachers Marilyn Rasmussen, Sarah Dennis, Glenda Walker, Madison Monzingo, Kendra Wimberly project “Phase II: Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS),” $1,500. Teacher Laney McDermott’s project “Growing Green: A Sustainable Garden for Student Learning,” $3,000. Teacher Robyn Garcia’s project “Engaging Biology Through Hands-On Learning,” $2,334.41.
Intermediate School Winners: “Campus-wide Cultural Celebrations,” $4,000. Teacher Kim Ranson’s project “Patches with Purpose: Building Character One Trait at a Time,” $2,000.
