On Friday, the county’s COVID-19 clinic will take walkins, so anyone 18 years of age or older can get a shot without an appointment.
It will be faster if you call and get on the list: 254-697-7000.
However, appointments are not necessary Friday.
Tuesday the county did quite a few homebound shots in Milam County.
“Everyone needs to get a shot. It is the only way we finally get rid of the virus. We are using the Moderna drug this week. It is safe, effective and the shot is virtually painless. More than 925 million people have received the Moderna vaccination and not one person has died from the shots,” Milam County Judge Steve Young said. “However, in this nation 582,000 people have died from COVID. Do your part—help yourself, your family, your friends and the community—get a shot.”
There are different forms for the first-round shot and different forms for the second-round shot.

The county has tested 3,282 individuals with 977 positive infections which is a 29% positivity rate.
THE NUMBERS— COVID-19 cases this week have been measured Wednesday to Tuesday.
• Cumulative cases – 1,410, up 8 from 1,402.
• Active cases (PCR test) – 9, down 1 from 10.
• Confirmed (antigen) cases – 1,084 up 3 from 1,081.
• Hospitalized – 4, up 1.
• Deaths – 46, no change.
