SHERIFF’S REPORT
A 35-year-old Louisiana man, identified as a suspect who fled on foot at the Cameron “long bridge” Monday evening, was captured Tuesday morning near Cameron First Baptist Church.
Demechetrist Garner, who also listed a Killeen address, was charged with two counts of evading arrest, resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance (4 to 200 grams) and driving while license invalid.
Officers from several departments, including the Milam County Sheriff’s Department, Cameron police and the DPS, along with a DPS helicopter, participated in Monday’s manhunt.
