Wow, this year is nearly a “thing of the past”! Hoping all of you who have started your Christmas shopping have found some great bargains. We don’t do much of that any more, just give them some money and let them get what they want or need. It’s a lot easier. Patti Stewart and daughter Liz Moore went to an “ugly Christmas sweater” party. If you want to know what that is, you will have to ask Patti. The party was hosted by her sister, Brandy Johnson, in Gates-ville. Fun was had by all. Just looking at the school calendar there are a number of activities taking place this month. On Dec. 10 the fourth and fifth grade will take a field trip to the Titanic exhibit in Waco. Also on Dec. 10, a home basketball game against St. Mary’s. The school will have their annual Christmas program at 6 p.m. Dec. 13 in the gym. On Dec. 17, there is a home basketball game against Coupland at 5 p.m. Dress your little darlings in their Christmas attire for pictures with Santa on Dec. 17. Dec. 19-20 will be UIL academic events in Thorndale. There will be an early release at 12:30 p.m. Dec. 21. They will have their parties that day. School will resume Jan. 7, 2019. There will be a food bank for the community at 10 a.m. Jan. 11, 2019, at the Community Center.
