Here it is May! Can STAAR testing be far away? Then summer vacations will begin. I’m guessing summer vacation from school is a very short time for kids and teachers.

May will be a busy month with STAAR testing, the Student Council/NJHS field trip and the AR carnival. The last day for students will be May 22, but the staff will have to go back on May 23 for their last day.

Our family members went to Bastrop to see grandson Jaxon Hayes’ running and pole vault events. He got fourth place and hopefully will get to participate in the state event this weekend.

Johnny and Delores Fisher visited in Houston this past weekend with their daughter Vette and family.

Gause Baptist Church will have their fish fry fundraiser Sunday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. For more information, call Pastor Jason at 903-879-1064.

Tommy Reynolds is in St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan. Keep he and Darlene in your prayers.

The annual Gause Cemetery Association’s fundraiser will be Sunday, May 12. Following the program, there will be lunch at the tables next to the cemetery.

We share our food, so there may be someone who comes to “your spot,” bring enough food to share with them.
