Gause Cemetery Association held their annual Mother’s Day Homecoming at the Baptist Church Saturday.

Ray Coats served as master of ceremonies.

Claude Spence led the singing, as Kathy Turner played the piano.

The “theme song,” “Church in the Wildwood,” was led by Claude Spence.

Church pastor Jason Lasher gave the invocation.

Special music was sung by Kristi and Dixie Lasher.

Holly Bonorden Jentsch made the announcements.

Darlene Rains Reynolds gave the annual treasurer report.

Mary Jo Butler Hux then gave the interment.

Edith Smith was recognized as the oldest mother in attendance and Arnold Kornegay as the oldest father. The youngest mother was Chelsey Jentsch.

Stonie Wall sang a special song.

Pastor Lasher read the scripture and a tribute to mothers.

“Church in the Wild-wood” was sung again just for those who came in late.

Interim pastor of Gause Methodist Church Kyle McNeely presented the message and gave the benediction.

Archie Hoyt gave the blessing at the tables and then we all ate more than we needed.

Gause Cemetery Association directors and officers are: Darlene Rains Reynolds, Leroy Willard, Ray Ditto, Wanda Cass Lee, Chris Cooper, Barbara Gibson Paschall, Holly Bonorden Jentsch and Mary Jo Hux Butler.

CHOIR—Our family members attended the St. Joseph’s Catholic School Spring Choir Concert on May 9 at St. Joseph’s School Chapel. There was some beautiful music. Kathy Turner plays the piano and does a wonderful job. Our grandson Jaxon Hayles is in the choir.

STAAR TESTS—STAAR testing is under way at Gause ISD.

VISITING—Alyssa, Holly, Lynsie and Elizabeth took their mother, Patti Stewart, to the movies for Mother’s Day.

Delores and Johnny Fisher enjoyed the weekend in Houston with Vette Ferguson Burton, family and friends. There was plenty of good food. They attended church together on Sunday and Johnny’s sister, Gladys Jackson, also joined them.

GRADUATION—Gary and Patricia Shaw attended the graduation of granddaughter Taylor Shaw from Texas A&M Mays College of Business on May 10 in College Station. Taylor is the daughter of Robin and Shelly Shaw of Fort Worth. She graduated with a bachelor of business administration degree in marketing, magna cum laude. She accomplished this in three years while working two jobs, one on campus and one off campus, and maintained her grades.
