Area girls can register to become Girl Scouts and learn about bees and their contribution to ecology when the Milam County Girl Scouts present a program June 21 at 6:30 p.m. in the Kay Theater in Rockdale.

Bees provide pollination, which is what makes food production possible.

Patriot Honey Company from San Angelo will provide a live webinar about the importance of bees.

There will be a hive, encased for safety, so the girls can see how bees work along with a professional bee keeper on hand suited up to answer questions.

Girls will get to taste fresh honey comb. Popcorn and soda will be served for free.
