That’s what over 100 students from a dozen schools did recently at Fair Park as Perry & Perry Builders sponsored the first annual Tiger Tough welding competition. It was a “track meet” format with schools getting points based on individual events. Giddings was first, Columbus second and Cameron third. Dalton Hubnik of Rockdale was third high individual. Rockdale agriculture science personnel expressed appreciation to Lin Perry and Perry & Perry for their sponsorship. Milam results: Advanced welding, 6. Cody Vance, Rockdale; 9. Hubnik; intermediates, 1. Danny Cloud, Milano; beginners, 4. Joseph Nieto, Rockdale; cutting, 7. Hubnik; exam/tool ID, Hubnik and Lane Wallace, Rockdale, tied for sixth.
