GODDESS OF LIBERTY II—This lovely lady who sits atop the Texas Capital Building in Austin has a Rockdale connection that goes back to 1986. She was made with a special alloy in a crucible that was reserved especially for her at Alcoa. The crucible and another historical piece of equipment are being preserved and plans for their use will be announced later. For more photos and information, see page 8A.
