—Over 1,000 persons including scores of law enforcement and emergency personnel attended the funeral of the late Milam County Sheriff David Greene Monday in the Bell County Expo Center, Belton. The service concluded with a 21-gun salute outside and a multi-vehicle motorcade. Speakers at the funeral included Rockdale VFD Fire Chief Ward Roddam and Chief Deputy Chris White. White was sworn as the county’s new sheriff Tuesday (See page 1A). Greene died July 20. Memorials and donation to a scholarship fund may be made at Classic Bank. They may also be mailed to the sheriff’s department or taken there in person. Write “David Greene Memorial Scholarship Fund” in the memo. The Attorney General’s office covered calls for the sheriff’s department while its personnel were paying their respects to Greene.
