This is all that’s left of Milam County’s oldest cottonwood tree as it was taken down last week due to its rotten core which caused it to become a liability for the city. The tree could easily have fallen onto the nearby house or into the park which is regularly visited by Rockdale citizens. The City of Rockdale has plans to plant a replacement tree
