This year’s Rockdale Fall Music Festival begins with the apocalypse – the Zombie 5K Run and Trick or Treat 1K Run for the youngsters at the Kay Theatre. The event is set for 8 a.m. and a pancake breakfast is included with the race fee. Costumes are encouraged for the 5K run and the kids 1K. First event of the morning is the kids 1K, followed by the big 5K through the streets of Rockdale. Entry fee for the 1K is $15 before Oct. 4 and $18 on race day and for the 5K $25 and $30. Additional breakfast tickets can be purchased for $4 for children and $6 for adults. The Communities in Concert Band will play for the race contestants from 8 to 9 a.m. at the Kay Theatre.
