Gertharine “Big Mama” Green had a special birthday last week when she turned 106 years old. On Saturday, a huge birthday party was held at her home on Third Street, also known as Gertharine Green Avenue. Surrounded by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and lots of family and friends, she was feted with singing and flowers and a meal.
