A driver found out one could indeed be arrested on private property last week. A patrol officer stopped

A patrol officer stopped a vehicle at the corner of Marshall and Murray.

But the driver left the vehicle and headed toward a house, after the officer had asked him to remain in the driver’s seat.

Once behind the property’s chain link fence, the suspect told the officer he was free from arrest because he had made it onto private property.

The officer, however, informed the man that was not the case.

The man was arrested on charges of driving with an invalid license and evading arrest in the Tuesday incident.

Officer Zachary Krejci arrested a 16-year-old male Monday. The juvenile was arrested on an outstanding warrant for possession of a controlled substance (4-400 grams).

Sunday morning officers Byron Frankland and Sgt. Michael Hubnik went to the First Assembly of God Church in reference to a call about a burglary. A man at the church

A man at the church told the officers that someone had pried a door to the church building and also broken into an office in the church.

A bank bag, a box of checks and deposit slips were reported to the police as missing.

The case is currently under investigation.

That same day the same two officers went to Meadowbrook Baptist Church in reference to another burglary.

The pastor reported that someone had tried to pry open a door to the church, but apparently the dead bolt on the door prevented the person from getting in. A video showed someone trying to get in at 7:40 p.m. Friday.
