Cameron ISD Student Health Advisory Council and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service-Milam County will host a Family Health and Resource Fair at the Ben Milam Elementary Cafeteria.

It’s set for 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 7th.

This is a free event for families to come and receive education and resources to help them throughout the year.

Current vendors for this year include Milam County WIC, Milam County Health Department, Office of Attorney General- Child Support Division, United Healthcare.

Also, the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service Passenger Safety, Early Childhood Prevention, Maximus, Lions Club- Cameron.

Cameron Youth Soccer Association, Cameron 4-H Club, Sign Gypsies-Mi-lam County, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, Ben Milam Elementary PTO, and many more.

Each of these vendors will provide great information to help inform and teach our families about health and opportunities available to them.

Parents will be able to walk away hopefully feeling like they have helped their children prepare for the new year successfully and safely.

A highlight of the evening will be the rollover convincer to simulate what happens in a rollover collision when a child is not restrained properly in a car seat or seat belt.

There will also be door prizes and great freebies at the vendor booths.

Please come out and visit this free fair and set your school year off to a great start.

PLAY STREETS—Play Streets is a free and fun activity provided for families who want to be physically active and have fun with their children this summer.

We want to encourage all families to come and play and have fun together and hope they will come to these free events.

The last Play Streets for this summer will be on July 31 at the Cameron Elementary Fenced Yard.

This is by the pavilion where the Feeders of the Lambs lunch program will take place.

Play Streets will take place for two hours, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

We will have a water bounce house, potato sack races, hula hoops, and activities with balls, bubbles, outdoor activities, healthy snacks, and many more fun activities for kids.

Play Streets will also have the Yoe Nation Reads mobile library available for the children to pick out books to read during the summer.

Come with your families to this fun, exciting, and free event and spend some time with your family.
