An Auxin Herbicide Training for cotton growers will be conducted on Thursday April 18, at The Buckholts Community Center, 110 West Main in Buckholts.
Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. with the program starting at 9. This is a two-hour-required annual Training and will be conducted by Dr. Gaylon Morgan, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service Professor and State Extension Cotton Specialist.
The training will provide two continuing education units CEU’s for pesticide applicator licenses in the Laws and Regulations Category.
Topics will include:
• Why do auxin herbicides require additional precautions?
• Label requirements for approved auxin formulations.
• Understanding temperature inversions.
• Spray system hygiene.
• Record keeping.
• Using dicamba and 2, 4-D in a weed management system.
