Maybe once every 250 years a Rockdale-area resident gets a photo taken with the vice president of the United States, It happened earlier this month. That’s Lynn Young on the right and Vice President Mike Pence on the left. In between is Daniel DiLella, chairman of the U. S. Semiquincentennial (250 years) celebration, being planned for 2026. Young is a member of the committee which met recently with Pence at the White House, along with seven other nationwide committee members whom The Reporter cropped from the photo.
