A car parked in the 400 block of Rice Street was hit by another vehicle Monday and the driver of the offending vehicle left the scene.
The driver was later found and arrested not only for striking the unattended vehicle, but also for unlawful carrying of a weapon and on a writ that had been issued by a court seeking unpaid fines and costs.
On Saturday there was an accident near the intersection of Wilcox and US 79 with no injuries reported.
On Sunday another off roadway two-vehicle accident was reported close to Davilla and Main streets with the parties telling police there were no injuries.
Police issued 18 tickets over the past week.
There were 15 speeding tickets handed out.
One ticket was given for no drivers license and two were given out because of violations to city ordinances.
Officers responded to 342 calls with 125 being 911 calls.
DPS—The driver and a passenger were taken to the hospital after their vehicle ran off the road and rolled, on Nov. 2.
According to the trooper on scene the vehicle swerved on FM 908 south of FM 486 to avoid a cow in the roadway.
A Thorndale driver hit a deer on Nov. 4 on FM 487 southwest of FM 418.
The driver was transported to Baylor Scott & White.
Last Thursday a trooper worked a one-vehicle accident on FM 908 near FM 487.
A Salado man had a wreck on Friday on FM 1600 north of CR 470.
The trooper on the scene said the driver ran off the road.
There was another wreck on Friday when two vehicles collided on US 79 west of FM 348.
According to reports one of the vehicles crossed over the lanes and the cars collided.
