Peace Lutheran Church, 303 Meadow Drive, will host the Rockdale Ministerial Alliance-sponsored Holy Week luncheons during the noon hour Monday through Friday, March 26-30.
“These annual events feature light lunches provided by local congregations, messages by local clergy, and music,” said Ken Ansell, president of the Ministerial Alliance.
He listed speakers and music leaders for each day as follows:
• Monday—Rev. Pam Graham, St Thomas Episcopal; music, St. Thomas Episcopal; scripture, Lance Walch, Forest Grove Christian; food, St Thomas Episcopal, Assembly of God, Rockdale Full Gospel, Forest Grove Christian.
• Tuesday—Rev. Steve Ammons, Meadowbrook Baptist; music, Meadowbrook Baptist; scripture, minister Jason Hollinger, Murry Street Church of Christ; food, Meadowbrook Baptist, Murray Street Church of Christ.
• Wednesday—Rev. Royal Johnson, Rising Star Baptist; music, Rising Star Baptist; scripture, Rev. Matt Higginbotham, First Baptist; food, Rising Star Baptist, First Baptist.
• Thursday—Rev. Gary Veit, Peace Lutheran; music, First Presbyterian; scripture, David Pussman, First Presbyterian; food, Peace Lutheran, First Presbyterian.
• Friday—Rev. Adam Straznicky, St. John’s United Methodist; music, St. John’s United Methodist; scripture; minister Harry Stevenson, Rockdale Christian; food, St. John’s United Methodist, First Christian.
Services are open to all and conclude in time for working persons to get back to their jobs.
SUNRISE SERVICES—
The Ministerial Alliance isn’t sponsoring a Sunrise Service on Easter Sunday, April 1, but some local churches are hosting their own.
First Christian Church will hold an Easter sunrise service, April 1, on the church lawn west of the sanctuary, Bell Avenue between Burleson and Scarbrough beginning at 7:10 a.m.
Sunrise will be at 7:15 a.m., according to Pastor Andy Pate.
First Presbyterian Church will hold a sunrise service at 7 a.m. at the church, located at 1600 Alcoa Avenue, according to Rev. David Pussman, pastor.
