Tweed Scott, speaker and author will present a program at the Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library at 6 p.m. Thursday, according to Librarian Melanie Todd.

Todd said Scott loves spreading what he calls the “Gospel of Texas” and said he submitted the following press release:

Tweed Scott is billed as a “laugh-out-loud” funny motivational speaker and corporate entertainer. He is a retired broadcaster of 31 years and he ran the highest rated FM station in America.

In addition to being a U.S. Navy veteran he also is a two-term past president of the Writers’ League of Texas. He is also a proud grandfather of four “super smart” grandchildren. Yes, he is biased, he said.

Scott is the author of the three-time national award winning book, “Texas: In Her Own Words.”

His most recent book is “Tis the Season: Reflections on Christmases Past.”

Scott is also an owner of Tejas Publishing.

When he is not spending his weekends exploring or writing about all things Texan, he is chasing around after his goofy Norwegian Elkhound, Bodee aka “Dances With Stupid.”

All library programs are free.
