The Little River Basin Master Gardeners and the El Camino Real Master Naturalists of Milam County are hosting “There’s an App for That” at the Patterson Civic Center on Thursday, Nov. 11 at 10 a.m. The public is invited so mark your calendars and download the app.

Community science is a powerful way for people of all ages and all walks of life to contribute to research, conservation, and management of our natural resources. Texas Parks and Wildlife’s Texas Nature Trackers program uses iNaturalist—an online data collection tool and naturalist community—to support many of its projects. They will introduce iNaturalist and provide basic information on how to get started using it to make observations, add identifications and explore nature where you are and beyond.

“Weather permitting, we may get outside and practice making observations on the phone app, so we recommend coming to the session with an iNaturalist account set up and the iNaturalist app loaded onto your phone if possible,” said Master Gardner Reba Fisher.
