Rockdale area road accidents included injuries and property damages during the past week, according to Department of Public Safety (DPS) troopers.

Trooper Jacob Luna was called to Youth Opportunities Investments Rockdale Center (formerly called Rockdale Juvenile Justice Center at 12:25 a.m. Sunday for a report of a one-vehicle accident.

Report was a vehicle had knocked down utility poles and power lines. Driver was listed as Christina Rutter-ford, 44, of Rockdale.

Luna termed damages as “extensive.”

TRUCK RIGS—A collision between two 18-wheelers sent one driver to Little River-Rockdale Hospital for treatment at 8:50 p.m. Thursday.

Luna said the location was US 77 near the FM 487 corner. He listed drivers as Vernon Rueb, 49, of Zanesville, Ohio and 44-year-old Binyam Michael of Rowlett.

Luna said one of the trucks collided with the other while trying to avoid a farm tractor operating without lights.

Both truck rigs sustained extensive damages and Michael was taken to Little River-Rockdale for treatment.

Luna said the farm tractor was not located.

MORE—Trooper Joshua Hendricks said one person was injured in a one-vehicle accident at 7:52 a.m. Friday on Texas 36 near CR 334.

He listed the driver as Leoneo Guajardo, 81, of Copperas Cove.

Jennifer McCollum, 36, a passenger, was treated at Little River-Rock-dale Hospital.

No injuries were reported in a couple of one-vehicle accidents.

Hendricks said a vehicle operated by Howard Bean, 36, of Cameron, sustained minor damages at 3:06 p.m. Friday when it struck a culvert on County Road 3061.

Moderate damages were reported at 11:15 a.m. Sunday on Texas 36 near CR 344. Driver was listed as Robert Griswold, 62, of Sweetwater, according to Trooper Ernest DelBosque.
