The Intermediate’s ACE Tigers after school program is hard at work this spring semester. Not only do each of our classroom teachers tutor at least one after school tutorial class, but a number of the teachers, along with some of our educational aides, facilitate fun and engaging enrichment classes for our students. A nutritious dinner meal is also served between the tutorial and enrichment classes. Buses are available to take some students home, however they are on a limited route.

Over a hundred and thirty students attend the Reading and/or Math tutorials classes that are held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3:15 to 4:30 p.m. Tutorials classes not only reinforce the content that was taught in class, or strengthen strategies and skills, but they also help prepare the students for the upcoming STAAR tests.

Enrichment classes are offered after the tutorial classes from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Friday is utill 5 p.m. Enrichment classes are not only a little more fun, but the classes also have a learning component. Some of the classes we offer on particular days are: Math Board Games, Lego Challenge, Gardening, Baking, Arts and Crafts, Drum Fit, Education Galaxy in Computer Class, Sports, Science, Build It and a Virtual Vacation class is currently being designed.

Upcoming: Parent/ Family Engagement activities are being developed and information will be sent out very soon, so please watch for those announcements. The summer school planning has started and we know that the Intermediate summer school will be held at our own campus this year, instead of the Elementary campus.
