CAMERON—An indictment over the April 11 highway accident which resulted in the death of an Austin man was among the 35 cases returned as true bills Thursday in the June session of the Milam County Grand Jury.
Prosecutor Bill Torrey said there were no “no bills” (refusal to indict) returned on Thursday.
Jody Mack Wood, 39, of Leander was indicted for intoxication manslaughter.
According to the Department of Public Safety, Wood’s SUV collided with a Jeep on US 79 near the Robertson County line (Brazos River).
The Jeep driver, 76-year-old Reynaldo Amaya-Charo died in a Bryan hospital.
Torrey said other indictments returned Thursday included:
• Lonnie Birt Donaldson, 48, Caldwell, theft (less than $2,500) with previous convictions-elderly enhancement.
• Matthew Robert Manzoni, 47, Rockdale, forgery of government instrument.
• Britt Allen O’Brien, 56, Rockdale, assault family violence–impede breath with prior family violence conviction.
• Dayana Batrice Johnson, 35, Cameron, bail jumping–failure to appear.
• Beau Jacob Cargill, 40, Davilla, possession of controlled substance (less than one gram).
• Roberto Cardoza, 27, Cameron, injury to a child.
• Wesley Wade Warrick, 47, Cameron, forgery of government instrument, two counts of bail jumping–failure to appear.
• Samantra Iwania Beckwith, 41, Rockdale, two counts of bail jumping–failure to appear.
• Jason Schulze, 45, Lexington, bail jumping–failure to appear.
• Juan Mendez, 25, Dallas, bail jumping–failure to appear.
• Cynthia Raquel Hernandez, 21, Thorndale, forgery–elderly enhancement.
• James Dale Carroll, 26, Gause, injury to a child.
• Billy Joe Walker, 31, Cameron, assault family violence–impede breath.
• Ronald Dale Shafer, 54, Rockdale, two counts of indecency with a child by contact.
• James Edward Turman, 47, Rockdale, accident involving injury.
• Michael Everett Falzon, 30, Cameron, theft of firearm.
• Juan Marvin Garcia, 31, Conroe, possession of controlled substance (4-400 grams).
• Thomas Edward Sayre, 54, Rockdale, possession of controlled substance (less than one gram).
• Manuel Guadarrama, 19, Austin, bail jumping–failure to appear.
• Pedro Moreno-Gonzales, 21, Taylor, possession of controlled substance (less than one gram).
• Kevin Christopher Cortez, 30, Hutto, evading arrest with motor vehicle.
• James Dion Furlow, 27, San Antonio, aggravated sexual assault of a child.
• Reginald Levine Rosemond, 61, Cameron, injury to a child.
• Jerry Dee Herzog, 52, of Thorndale, 3rd degree felony, assault family violence– impede breath.
• Billy Joe Denson, 30, Rockdale, theft (less than $2,500) with previous convictions.
• Salvador Tovar Juarez, 41, Rockdale, DWI with child passenger.
MORE STORIES—Also indicted Thursday were a Milam County Deputy Sheriff, a former employee of the county tax office, a former captain in the sheriff’s department and a Rockdale man who was in a recent collision with a local police sergeant which resulted in a broken elbow for the policeman.
