The Rockdale High School iTigers are helping students bridge the academic and social gaps that our families have had to contend with this year.
Student safety continues to be the top priority and we are following TEA guidelines by social distancing and wearing masks during activities taking place before and after school.
Some of these activities include Homework Help, Tutorials, Online AgriLife Food Handlers Certificates, Online Drivers Education, Cooking Class, Arts and Crafts, and Community Service projects such as cards to teachers, sewing masks and helping out at the Rockdale Animal Shelter physically (with a parent) and/or collecting supplies for them, and possible trash pick-up days.
We have several new iTiger family opportunities coming up for fun, creativity, learning, and job training.
Painting With-a-Twist is always a favorite, and we also currently offer weekly online Zumba, Yoga, and Cardio Dance Party where you can join friends to work out at home. Texas Workforce Solutions, Texas AgriLife Extension, and Skillpoint are all offering job training for our parents.
The Literacy Council of Williamson County, Williamson County Child Advocacy Center and Austin Community College will also host activities for families who are interested. More details are available upon request. We are happy to hear from you.
We are planning activities now for Summer School starting June 1 and running through July 1.
It’s not too late to get your family involved. YMCA will be one of our partnerships this year, along with Edgenuity classes and Enrichment activities. Registration forms can be picked up at the RHS school office or email me to have them sent home with your student.
We are also looking for new ways to support our community so please send any suggestions to klangford@rockdaleisd.net or have your student or community partner speak to me about it at 512-430-6140 Ext 2130.
