Milam County Judge Steve Young said Wednesday afternoon Milam County's 27th case of COVID-19 was another Rockdale Walmart employee, the second in about 10 days to test positive.
Young said he believed "Walmart is okay" for several reasons.
"This is not like the situation with the Cameron Dairy Queen (earlier in the pandemic)," he said. "Neither of these Walmart employees ever came to work with symptoms. At the restaurant an employee did work with symptoms of the virus." The Cameron Dairy Queen temporarily closed.
"Of course, neither employee will return to work until they test negative,": he said.
Young said Walmart has been "very cooperative." He said all employees are screened and interviewed before coming to work and are required by the company to wear masks.
Other precautions include disinfecting every cart, regular cleanings of frozen and refrigerated foods glass doors, regular disinfecting of common areas, including restrooms.
Six-foot social distancing is maintained by employees and customers, including "one-way" markings on aisles.
