For the second time, a Rockdale man already convicted of keeping a junkyard has been indicted for bail jumping-failure to appear by a Milam County Grand Jury.
Prosecutor Bill Torrey said Ira Richard “Richie” Thrasher, 43, was one of 43 persons indicted on Thursday. Torrey told The Reporter Thrasher had missed a court appearance date.
He has been the object of legal action for several years by the city and county concerning property on East Cameron Avenue (US 79).
He was previously indicted in June for missing a separate court date.
In addition to now being indicted twice for failure to appear he has been fined a total of $122,612 in separate adjudications in Milam County Court and Rockdale Municipal Court.
THEFT RING—Two persons were indicted in connection with the breakup of what Milam County authorities called a “theft ring.”
Chad Lee Bankston, 42, of Thorndale was indicted on two counts of burglary of a building, three of theft ($2,500 to $30,000), burglary of habitation and one count of forgery.
Jennifer Adele Blye, 34, of Elgin was indicted on two counts of burglary of a building, and two counts of theft ($2,500 to $30,000).
