JUST THE BEGINNING—The transformation of 84-year-old Tiger Field into a brand new football and track facility is a big project in more ways than one. First task was to demolish the old facilities and within the first couple of days last week that was in high gear. Here, the visitors’ stands were being dismantled and the home stands weren’t far behind with work well underway this week. The $5-million project is expected to be completed this fall. It will see the current east-west orientation of the football field changed to north-south. Obviously, the facilities are closed to the public.
