Rockdale’s Kay Theatre will show the movie “Dora and the Lost City of Gold” twice on Friday.
Screenings will be at 3 and 7 p.m., according to Bob Burnett, Kay Foundation spokesman.
The movie, which was released earlier this year, is a live-action adaptation of the popular Nickelodeon animated television series “Dora the Explorer.”
Tickets are $3 for children and adults and concessions are $1.
The movie is sponsored by the Barbara Nelson family.
Dora, a teenage explorer, leads her friends on an adventure to save her parents and solve the mystery.
The Kay Theatre is located on the corner of North Main and Davilla.
Many closings for New Year on January 1st
Wednesday, Jan. 1, is, of course, New Year’s Day and most businesses and government institutions are taking the holiday off.
Among the closings are all of Rockdale’s financial institutions.
City Hall and the Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library will be closed Wednesday only.
Rockdale’s garbage pickup will be one day late next week after the holiday.
The Rockdale post office will be closed on Wednesday.
SCHOOL—Everybody is out of school for the holidays.
Thorndale ISD, Thorn-dale St. Paul’s. Milano and Gause students will return on Tuesday, Jan. 7.
Rockdale students return on Wednesday, Jan. 8 after two teacher work days.
