Rockdale Knights of Columbus have donated more than $5,000 to Milam County individuals, charities, clubs and organizations through the first half of 2019.
The non-profit organizations fundraising activities throughout the year fund their charitable contributions that go right back to community. Events like Mayfest, Lenten Fish Frys, Bingo and other events at the KC Hall help support the community and those less fortunate.
“The Knights of Columbus thanks all of its patrons and friends,” said Tom Alejandro, spokesman for the KCs.
KC families have donated their time to these activities:
• Unloading canned goods and other food for the Rockdale Food Pantry every month.
• Hosting two food trucks per month at the KC Hall parking lot for distribution of food to low income families.
• Honoring the Milam County first responders with a chili supper at the Hall.
• Contributing to the Rock-dale Fireman’s Give away drive.
• Contributing to support non-profit fund raisers at the Hall including Christmas Roundup and Senior citizens events.
