Meet Julie Kraft, the new Rockdale Municipal Development District’s new executive secretary.
Julie and her husband, Adam, moved to Rockdale from Florida about a year ago when Adam retired from the police department. They had bought land outside of Rockdale a while back and decided to make their home here.
They are opening the Park Bench Brewing Co. at 235 E. Cameron Ave.
“Getting the building ready has been a huge effort, almost starting from scratch. Plus, Adam is a Coast Guard reservist and has been activated several times since we’ve been here so it’s taking longer than we thought to open the business,” Kraft said.
In Florida Julie worked for the board of county commissioners. She said when she saw the ad for the MDD position in the paper she knew it was the right job for her having previously worked for the government.
Julie and Adam have three children. Olivia, 13, is enrolled at Rockdale Junior High; Claire is 21 and attending Florida State; and Sabrie Huff, 25, lives in Houston.
