Dear editor,
Thanks to all the wonderful people who donated money and sponsored our children in foster care and kinship care for Christmas. Our children are all from Milam County and most have been traumatized by parental drug abuse and neglect. Others have been traumatized by and suffered through physical, emotional, and/or sexual abuse.
These innocent children are our county’s next generation who will grow up remembering the trauma of their childhood. We as citizens can help our children by giving them the reassurance that we are willing to help them in their recovery. We can help our children recover and become productive because they need to know that our county will take care of it’s youngest citizens.
There are many wonderful citizens who understand what these children have endured during their short lives and they have given them a good Christmas holiday. Our CPS Board appreciates their concern for our children and their generosity.
