Sales tax figures for City of Rockdale, Milam County and the Rockdale Municipal Development District (MDD) continue to rise in 2020, despite the pandemic.

Sales tax rebates sent to entities in September reflect taxes collected in July—for those businesses which report monthly—and reported to Comptroller Glenn Hegar’s office in July.

The City of Rockdale’s September check is $68,440, which is up 11.41 percent from the September, 2019, total of $61,429.

For the year, Rockdale’s total is $654,736, up 7.46 percent from $609,331 from one year ago.

Milam County is also up for the month and year.

The county’s September check was $88,786 while last year at this time it was $80,378.

That translates into an increase of 10.46 percent.

For the year-to-date, Milam County has received $1,032,956. That’s up 5.8 percent from $976,310 in September 2019.

The same is true for the Rockdale Municipal Development District.

The MDD’s September check was $35,093, up 10.33 percent from $31,805 in September, 2019.

For the year, the MDD’s total is $331,965, up 10.77 percent from $299,674 one year ago.

The City of Cameron is down for the month and the year, while Buckholts is down for the month.

Caldwell, in Burleson County, is down for both the month and year.

Falls County was the only entity with decreases for both the month and year.
