Senior Rockdale FFA student, Ryan Luckey, has been selected as one of the students of the week by Capital Farm Credit. Luckey was interviewed by phone and the interview should be available soon on the Capital Farm Credit website. The company chooses students involved in agricultural activities in five different regions in Texas for a $1,000 scholarship.
Luckey will attend Texas A&M and will be in the Corps of Cadet s. His squadron assignment has not been decided yet, but he is hoping for the Air Force Squadron. After college he plans to enter the Air Force. Luckey also qualified for the Rockdale High School boys regional powerlifting last week and will compete with his classmates this Saturday in West. He is president of the Rockdale FFA and the Rockdale chapter of 4-H, is a wood craftsman in ag mechanics and is in the National Honor Society.
Lucky is the son of Paul and Rebecca Luckey of Rockdale.
