The MARC Center will be celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2025. The center was founded in 1965 by a group of parents, interested citizens and community leaders. The MARC Board wants to find as many of the family members of the original organizers as possible.
The list includes: H.D. Maxwell, John M. Weed Sr., Opal Haley, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Luckey, Mr. and Mrs. Perry Luetge, Walter Frazier, Josie Matous, Dr. John Armour, Mrs. T.F. Gilleland, Mr. Vesper Christian, Floriene Wilson, Mrs. C.W. Summerlin, Mrs. B.J. Chaney, Mrs. Allan Clayton, Mr. and Mrs. James Throckmorton, Charles McDermott, Max McClaren, Mr. C.R. Law and Mrs. Lee Roy Carter. The moderator for the first meeting on Feb. 10, 1965, was Rev. David Erskine and Dr. L.E. Selden was present to answer any questions.
