The Little River Basin Master Gardeners of Milam County is offering Master Gardener Classes starting February 2 every Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cameron Chamber of Commerce.

The fee for the class is $175 and the deadline for registration is January 20.

The Master Gardener program is an educational/volunteer program offered by the Texas AgriLife Extension. The program is designed to increase the availability of horticultural information and improve the quality of life with horticultural projects throughout the county.

Participants will receive 50 hours of training on topics such as lawn care, trees and shrubs, disease and weed management, soils, propagation, plant nutrition, vegetable gardening, herbs, home fruit production and more.

Upon successful completion of the training and volunteering for 50 hours, participants will become Certified Texas Master Gardeners.
