Howdy! My name is Kenan Mingus, and I am a senior at Yoe High School in Cameron.

I am excited to be one of the Cameron 4-H Club Cloverbuds leaders for the 2024-2025 school year! I have been an active member of Cameron 4-H since kindergar ten and am thankful for everything that I have achieved and learned thus far as a 4-H member.

A lot of people ask, “what is 4-H?” 4-H is education, opportunity, livestock, baking, judging, exploring, learning, playing, scholarships, science, photography, friendships, confidence, leadership, community, memories and more.

4-H Cloverbuds are kindergartners, first graders and second graders and they are our younger 4-H members.

4-H Cloverbuds project meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at the Cameron Yoe High School cafeteria at 5:15 p.m.

This year in Cloverbuds, we have many exciting activities planned.

We will kick off our first monthly meeting on Sept. 3 with an introduction to 4-H, get acquainted with each other and have a coloring contest.

In the months to follow, we have events to attend in the community, learning activities, guest speakers, record bookkeeping and more.

4-H annual registration opens on Sept. 1. Please visit www.join4h.com to join.

Please like and follow Milam County 4-H on Facebook for upcoming events and meeting info.

I hope you will consider joining us each month and I look forward to meeting you all soon!
