A benefit for the Richard Melton family is set for Saturday at Milam County Cowboy Church in Rockdale. This is an outdoor event and guidelines set by the county judge for social distancing will be followed, including asking those in attendance to wear masks.
There will be sausage plates for sale at $10 each, starting at 10:30 a.m. There will also be a live auction and a 50/50 fundraiser.
All proceeds will go to the family of Richard Melton to help with medical costs and such. Melton passed away earlier this spring after a battle with cancer.
To donate items or money to the event, you can contact JR Hurt, 979-224-5155, or Tassie Garza, 512-663-7354. There is also a Facebook page for the event that has a list of auction items. ‘SNIP AND CLIP’—
