A benefit is planned March 22 for Milano resident Richard Melton and family as he battles gastric cancer. He is receiving treatment at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and the event is being held to help with expenses during his battle to win this fight. Many are ready and willing to help Richard, his wife Jenny, and their seven children.
The event will take place 11 a.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Rockdale. The event was to be held at The Ranch, but the amount of those wanting to help grew to a point where a larger venue was needed.
Barbecue plates, sides and desserts, dine in or to-go will be sold. They will also be selling T-shirts and there will be a live auction, washer tournament and 50/50 fundraiser. Donations can be made by contacting Tassie Garza at 512-663-7354 or tgarza@ attorneysoftexastitle.com.
