Milano High School’s One Act Play cast and crew advanced from district contest to the bi-district level with their performance of scenes from “The Diviners” by Jim Leonard Jr. The contest was held March 8 at the Yoe High School Performing Arts Center in Cameron.

Kaleb Dodd was named best actor and Ben King and Kyle King earned honorable mention all-star cast awards.

The group’s bi-district contest will be held March 21 at Rudder High School in Bryan. Performances start at 2 p.m. with six shows on the schedule.

PROJECT GRADU-ATION—Milano’s Project Graduation will host a chicken dinner Sunday at the KC Hall in Rockdale. Serving starts at 11 a.m. and plates are $10 each. Meals include ½ chicken, green beans, German noodles, dessert and tea. There will also be a silent auction at the events. Plates are available for dine in or take out.

Project Graduation is also selling tickets on a grill package. The package includes an Oklahoma Joe’s Highland 879 sq. in. charcoal horizontal smoker, grilling accessories, spices and $50 in meat money. Drawing will be held at the Sunday dinner. Tickets are available from any Milano High School senior or parent of MHS senior.

AUXILIARY GARAGE SALE—Donations are now being accepted for the upcoming Milano VFD Ladies Auxiliary garage sale in early April. If you have donations that need dropped off or picked up, contact Thurla Hubert (512-455-3635), Lois Love (512-455-7915) or Travis Yoakum (512-657-2660). The sale will be held April 5-7 at the Milano Fire Station. The building will be open March 29-30 and April 2-4 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to drop off donations.

SCHOLARSHIP GOLF TOURNEY—The annual Milano ISD scholarship golf tournament will be held on Saturday, April 21, at the Rockdale Country Club. Cost is $75 per player and is a four-person scramble event. The tournament will begin at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start.

Prizes will be handed out for first through third place teams, longest drive, closest to the pin and hole-in-one. All net proceeds will fund scholarships for graduating Milano students. For more information, contact Milano ISD, 512-455-2533 or visit www.milanoisd.net.
