Milam Appraisal District Chief Appraiser, Dyann White, a resident of Rockdale, is set to leave effective Jan. 4, 2021. She has accepted the Chief Appraiser position at Washington County Appraisal District in Brenham, where she will replace Willy Dillworth as he is retiring at the end of the year after 20 years.
White was the final selection from a pool of 11 candidates interviewed by a hiring committee made up of the nine taxing entities in Washington County.
White has 18 years of experience in the field with the Milam Appraisal District. She was originally hired as a personal property appraiser but became an Administrative Assistant of Records and Appraisal. White became the Deputy Chief Appraiser in 2008 and was appointed as the Chief Appraiser in 2014
“This move is definitely bitter-sweet. I am honored and excited to have been selected by Washington County, but the staff at Milam Appraisal District are more than my friends – they have become family. I will miss them dearly. The Milam Appraisal District Board of Directors has initiated a search for the next Chief Appraiser.
Sealed applications and resumes will be taken until Jan. 25.
