The Milam County extension office is highlighting the county 4-H seniors who graduating in 2021. We are proud of these youth as they have worked very hard, for most of them, over 10 years in 4-H. They have competed in numerous competitions and have gained life skills they will use throughout their lives.

This week the spotlight is on Gabriel Ramthun

Ramthun is the son of Ricky and Jocelyn Ramthun. He is a Thorndale 4-H Club member and has been in 4-H for 12 years (including Cloverbud years).

His main projects include: gardening and horticulture, poultry, food and nutrition, ag product ID, leadership, consumer decision making, healthy lifestyles and photography. He serves this year as Texas 4-H Water Ambassador, Texas Healthy Youth Ambassador, Thorndale Club 2nd Vice President and County Council Secretary.

Ramthun’s extracurricular activities include UIL Science, NHS, golf, one-act-play, FFA Senior Quiz Team, FFA Wildlife Team, FFA Lone Star Degree, band and powerlifting.

He plans to attend Texas A&M University in the fall to major in plant and environmental science. He received a Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Scholarship in the amount of $20,000.
